Scott Capece, Au.D.

Meet Scott Capece, Au.D.

Scott Capece earned his B.S. in Biology at the University of South Carolina and his Au.D. at the University of Louisville in May 2022. He began practicing at Greater Knoxville ENT in August 2022.

He says, “Having had personal experience with hearing and ear-related challenges growing up, I gained a deep respect for the field. It became a goal of mine to deliver high quality hearing health care much like the care I received.”

At GKENT, Scott’s role is to educate the patient on the status of their hearing, provide evidence-based best practice, determine treatment options, and act as a guide through the patient’s journey of hearing health care. He is highly trained in hearing aids and it is his duty to provide the patient with the most appropriate devices for their needs.

On the vestibular (balance) side of our clinic, Scott’s role is to conduct diagnostic testing for patients with balance disorders. Using the combination of a thorough case history and extensive vestibular testing, his job is to provide data analysis and interpretation for the otolaryngologist to use when reaching a diagnosis.

Scott says the most he enjoys about work is, “Seeing the impact that audiology has on the quality of life for patients is the most enjoyable part of my job. Hearing about the new experiences that patients have and the ways their relationships with loved ones have improved after obtaining hearing aids is a very gratifying aspect of what I do.”

In his leisure time, Scott hikes trails with his dog, and he says he “spends far too much time on the golf course.”
