Stewart H. Bernard, M.D. – Otolaryngologist

Meet Dr. Stewart H. Bernard

Stewart Bernard was born and raised in Kansas and earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Kansas in 2011. He then earned his medical degree from Loma Linda University School of Medicine in Loma Linda, California in 2015, and then went on to complete his residency at the University of Florida.

Dr. Bernard became a physician out of love for science, problem-solving, and a desire to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others. Dr. Bernard chose Otolaryngology because he loves the diverse surgical and clinical aspects of the specialty. Within the specialty he has a particular interest in minimally invasive endoscopic techniques for both ear and sinus disease. Dr. Bernard believes in approaching every patient as a whole person and not a specific disease or symptom. And to try to provide the same care and competency that he would want for his own family.

When he’s not working, he enjoys getting outside, hiking, biking, running, and kayaking. Dr. Bernard also enjoys reading history, biographies, and novels. After living in California and Florida, Dr. Bernard, his Knoxville-native wife, and their two children are happy to find their way back to East Tennessee.

Dr. Bernard is passionate about his job because of the people he meets, and shares, “Everyone has a story and every day I get to learn something new from the people I interact with.”
