James Urbanski, Au.D.

James (Jim) Urbanski, Au.D., is a dedicated audiologist with a passion for helping patients connect with the world around them. From an early age, Jim knew he wanted a career in a helping profession and initially considered becoming a teacher or speech-language pathologist. However, after shadowing an audiologist and exploring the field during his studies, he was captivated by audiology’s unique impact.

Jim earned his Bachelor of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders from the State University of New York at Fredonia (SUNY Fredonia) and went on to complete his Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) degree at the University of Akron in Ohio. Since 2017, he has been providing expert audiologic care, working closely with ENT specialists to ensure patients receive comprehensive medical support. In his role, he conducts diagnostic evaluations and offers personalized hearing aid solutions to help patients improve their communication and quality of life.

At Greater Knoxville ENT, Jim values the collaborative approach, working alongside physicians, PAs, and other audiologists to deliver the highest standard of care—all under one roof. Outside the clinic, Jim enjoys the outdoors, playing golf, and relaxing with his guitar. A fun fact: Jim’s wife is also an audiologist and assistant professor at the University of Tennessee, making audiology a frequent topic at their dinner table.
